Although it may be too early to talk about ice and snow as the calendar just rolled to October, the suddenly dropping temperature already alerts people of slushy Michigan winter. Get ready.

1. Velocipede Peddler:

Located on Grand River Ave. in East Lansing between MSU campus and Meridian Mall, Velocipede probably enjoys the greatest traffic exposure among all bike shops in the area. There is actually a short unpaved road behind the shop that allows you to get a experience closer to real trails when you test ride your mountainbike.
2. Denny’s Central Park Bicycles:

It’s got “Central Park” in its name because the area it is located is named as “Central Park”, following the “Central Park” in Manhattan. Such conclusion is drew from there being a “Time Square” near by. Despite the pretentious notion the name gives, the bike shop carries the largest selection of Specialized bikes in Greater Lansing Area.
3. Evergreen Cycles & Repair:
This is a small shop. It hides behind the crowded traffic on Grand River Ave. on a hard-to-find corner alongside Evergreen Rd. in East Lansing. It doesn’t carry a lot of merchandises in the shop as it being small (really). On the other hand, the shop’s specialty, which made it popular, is repairing offered for a fair labor rate.
4. Riverfront Cycle:

Located just beside Lansing Community College, this shop sells not only bicycles, but also a few fairly priced 50cc motorized scooters, legally recognized as “moped” here in Michigan.
5. SPIN Bicycle Shop:
One of the newest bike shop in Greater Lansing Area is located in Old Town. Their staff keep a blog on cycling. Poke here to view it. Maybe its not as helpful and informative as it could be. But you won’t find yourself wasting time reading it. They mainly carry Fuji.
